Urgha Aire opened at the start of the season on land adjacent to Urgha Depot. The Aire provides overnighting facilities for self-sufficient campervans and motorhomes. The Trust has installed a path linking the Aire to the existing Chemical Disposal Point next to the orange container (see photo). With fresh water at the Aire too, there is no need for campers to drive to the recycling site to service their vehicles.
We have historically had issues with campers blocking access to the recycling centre and past us to the coal yard. They always turned up when we were trying to swap skips! So far, this year has seen most visitors go to the aire and access remain clear for Crofting Supplies customers and Skip collections.
Along with the linking path, we have created a parking area next to the orange container, to allow shoppers easier access to the stock of feed.
